School Kids Sing Obama Health Care Song on CNN

By TheWatchman on October 8, 2009

Schoolchildren from the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta sung a health care reform song on the CNN set this week.  The song was set to the beat of Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA."  This comes on the heels of the praise Obama song video that landed on YouTube last month, which features school children performing an Obama rap song.  Not surprisingly, searching CNN's web site for the health care song video reveals nothing.

Underneath the health care reform song video posted below, you'll find a transcript of the song's lyrics.  It's hardly a bipartisan performance with lines like, "Obama says everyone needs health coverage in America now. We need to insure those 47 million, but the government doesn't know how. ... Bipartisan support was tried, so we wouldn't be denied, but Joe Wilson yelled, 'You lie!'"

Obamacare Song Video Transcript:

Got paged in the morning at 5am
Time to go into work again

Welcome to the world of medicine
Whoa - here we go again

The hospital's packed with people in a long line
Agitated 'cause we've waited for a long time

This is all so crazy
Too many missing coverage lately

My tummy's turning and I'm feelin' kinda sickly
My hip's bad and I feel week
And the prices are always raising up

Conservatives and liberals say
To reform health care today
But they can't seem to find a way

So we throw our hands up,
for health care reform
Make your choice today

Private and public care
Will the marketplace treat us fair?

So we throw our hands up,
for health care reform
Make your choice today

Yeah, yeah, yeah
It's a problem in the U.S.A.

Yeah, yeah, yeah
It's a problem in the U.S.A.

Obama says everyone needs health coverage in American now
We need to insure those 47 million but the government doesn't know how

Deductibles getting higher every day
I got my bill and I'm thinking no way!

And what about my brother
He's hurt and can't get covered

My tummy's turning and I'm feeling kinda worried
Capricious coverage is killing me

And when the doctor said
You'll have to go
Bipartisan support was tried
so we wouldn't be denied
But Joe Wilson yelled, "You lie!"

So we throw our hands up,
for health care reform
Make your choice today

Private and public care
Will the marketplace treat us fair

So we throw our hands up,
for health care reform
Make your choice today

Yeah, yeah, yeah
It's a problem in the U.S.A.

Yeah, yeah, yeah
It's a problem in the U.S.A.

In case the Obama health care song sounds familiar, here's the original Miley Cyrus video for "Party in the U.S.A." from Hollywood Records:

  1. Does “Hitler Youth” ring any bells??? This literally makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

  2. I agree.

“Be a good youth and tell us about your parents. What, they disagree with the administration? Well, we must take them for a while for “re-education”.

  3. This song rocks my socks.
